Not Funny

On Monday I found out that my last day was going to be April 1st. On Tuesday I got an interview for a position within another ministry admired which we scheduled for the following day at 1:30 pm. On Tuesday afternoon my throat started to hurt. I did’t sleep that night despite repeated doses of nyquil. On Wednesday I attempted to go to work and brought my suit with for my interview -I ended up going home sick less than an hour later. I stayed in bed until Friday morning.

The positive news is that I’m feeling much better, I can breath again. The person who was going to interview me was very understanding and we’re working now to reschedule. My last day at Intercristo is fast approaching, luckily my boss wasn’t too angry about me getting the Flu.

Not so fast

In the previous post I mentioned that I was still employed by Intercristo. In a bit of poetic irony today I was informed that I was being let go -getting laid off by a Christian ministry the day after Easter. Even better, my last day at work is April 1st -no foolin. It’s not especially funny, but I’m trying to keep a smile on my face. Some day I’ll probably look back and see just how funny this is, right now it seems more like a tragedy than a comedy.

Back to Mac

Well it’s been an eventful spot of time since my last regular update so I thought I should bring things back up to speed. I got the Dell Vostro 1400 but sent it back within a month because it was a lemon -it would take an entire blog post to list all the things wrong with it, but it isn’t worth the space, so I’ll sum it up in one word: Vista.

So I ended up getting another Mac. This time I bought directly from Apple, a refurbished MacBook Pro, 2.4 Ghz Core 2 Duo, 2 gigs of ram. Its just the right size, its just the right OS, and everything in the design is well thought out.

I’m still working at Intercristo. I got to spend a couple of days hanging out down at Seattle Urban Academy, another Crista ministry, which was pretty awesome. Make sure to remember them in your prayers, Sharon and her staff work extra hard to love on those kids and need all the support they can get -physical and spiritual.

I recently finished reading CH Spurgeon’s Soul Winner, which was an absolutely amazing book that I recommend to everyone. I also ordered 100 copies of the ESV New Testament that I plan to give out while doing outreach.

Going to finish my grad school apps this week and do my taxes. Working on a couple of book projects which I might write about at a later time. One of them is very missions focused and the other is very evangelism focused.
