Fasting

I have made the decision to fast from the internet for the foreseeable future here in Tokyo. I have so much to do, and the internet is a huge distraction! Sorry, no more M’Cheyne sermons for a while, not that anyone was reading them besides me.

Robert Murray M’Cheyne’s sermons

90 days in Tokyo, 90 Robert Murray M’Cheyne sermons. Many more to come!

Praying for Winkie Pratney

WinkieOver the past couple of weeks Winkie Pratney has been going through a serious medical situation in South Korea. You can read more about the situation here. Please remember him in your prayers.

“Winkie needs our prayers like never before. There has been improvement, yes, but there’s still more surgery required, and he’s still in a critical condition. I am sure though that you can feel this rising-up of faith stirring your spirit to intercede. Keep praying. Fast if you are able. We love you and thank you for your devotion and your prayers.”

Farewell double-o six

I made it to the end of yet another year, this year has been pretty eventful and I have to be honest that I haven’t taken enough time to reflect on it yet, maybe tomorrow.

Since I haven’t updated in over a month I should bring things up to date, I am employed with a Christian Non-profit now, full time… It’s a big change from working for a Fortune 50 company. I want to do my best, but I don’t know if there’s the same level of pressure as there was before –now I guess I need to look to Jesus for that call to excellence.

I lost a bunch of weight before the holidays but gained it all back, which I’m bummed about. Been trying to witness more, reaching out to a few people I know, telling them about Jesus. Been reading a lot more. Left my laptop at my parent’s house because it was a huge distraction. Anyways, it’s time to head off to church. I’ll try to update more later.

Greek or Latin?!

It’s Greek to me either way… I’ve put all of my posts over the last year into categories. Then later I decided to change all the category names into their root words. Then I couldn’t decide whether to use Greek or Latin. So for now: both.

Just finished reading KP Yohannan’s book ‘Living in the Light of Eternity.’ It was a really strong challenge to live with consciousness of eternal values in all of my actions and decisions. I started into reading KP’s book ‘Against the Wind‘ and also devoured three chapters of Elizabeth Elliot’s ‘Through the Gates of Splendor.’ I’m also being extremely blessed by CS Lewis’ ‘The Screwtape Letters;’ read it if you haven’t already!

One thought I recently toyed with the idea of scanning my copies of ‘The Last Days Newsletter.’ I purchased almost complete collection from 1981-87 or so and I think it would be a real blessing to share.
